Hugs, prayers, and I hate seafood?

I'll get to the point of the end of this blog title in a minute.

First and foremost, i'm so happy to hear the latest update on Emily, being out of ICU. Amazing news!

BUT - my thoughts and prayers are still with Emily, Christina, Jim, and the rest of their family. I think it's so amazing how so many bloggers are keeping them in their thoughts, and it really shows how great this community can be.

On another note - this article that came out recently. No way in hell will I link to it, because the garbage doesn't deserve any credit, so if you haven't see it, trust me - it's a bunch of crap!

There's not much else to say that others haven't already said, but i'm going to speak my peace anyway.

Basically, I don't get it. Of course there are people out there who aren't going to agree with DD, TTWD, etc, but if that's the case, why bother with it? Why read the blogs? Why research it? Why use up time in your life, to talk about something that you disagree with so passionately?

I hate seafood. I hate it. I think it's disgusting and the smell of it makes me want to throw up. Knowing that, do you think I open up google and type in, "Lobster recipes." Do I look up different ways to cook crab, or different ways to eat shrimp? Do I want to take my time to interview someone on what kind of seafood they eat and why?

No thanks. I have better things to do.

Now I get the whole seafood thing really isn't the best analogy, in face it's pretty stupid, but that's my point. This whole thing is ridiculous. Go spend your time elsewhere.

There are PLENTY of things ( a lot more serious than seafood ) that I don't agree with in this world, but I don't feel the need to go bash others, just because I don't get it, or I don't see it the way they do.

A few blogs I love reading have gone private, and I respect that - but it really sucks that it had to come to that, because of some moron who wants her 15 seconds of fame. Here's to hoping it fades soon, and these people find their next topic to attach themselves to.

Let's keep the focus on Emily, and her getting better - because that's where it should be. Feel better Emily, and Jim and Christina, we're thinking of you.

Now, i'm off to go google different ways to fry a fish. Or maybe why some people prefer salmon over flounder. I'm sure i'll figure out something. *Insert eye roll here.*

  1. Well said, Kenzie. 1)All of the continued prayers are amazing, and I love this community and 2)I hope the lurkers on the outside are seeing all of our wonderful posts like this one. They will eventually get the hint that we don't really care what they say...or better yet, maybe we will get a few DD converts lol

    1. Hopefully it didn't come across as being insensitive or anything. I know that the situation is very serious, and it really isn't something to make light of, but I felt we could all use a bit of humor, and hopefully some people got a laugh out of it. :)

  3. Giggles - I'm repulsed by all things shelled and finned. People have the hardest time understanding and respecting that! It's soooo wrong lol

    1. People should let us NOT enjoy our seafood in peace! What is wrong with them?! :p

  4. We had some great grilled Louisiana Red Fish tonight. lol.

Everyone is looking for their piece of the sun, and unfortunately the focus is on us at the moment. It will pass, it always does when something else more scintilating comes along.

    1. Lol, you fish eater! Well I hope it was nice and yummy. :)

You're right, the focus will pass when something more enticing comes along! It always does!

  5. LOL, I love all the responses to that crappy "article." It was half-assed and seriously, what did she find ONE statement on it and go from there? I'm assuming there's only one article...the one I read, at least, was a freaking joke. Why bother writing something you know nothing about, and that you only want to condemn? Ugh.
BTW, I hate seafood too. It stinks like that article ;)

You're right, it was very half assed, and it shows her true colors as a "writer."

  6. Kenzie, there always will be haters, who knows everything better than you do, even if they hadn't been spanked at least one time in their life. It doesn't matter - they just know better :D

    1. EXACTLY! Screw them, and keep on living the way that works for US! I'm sure most of them are miserable and could use a spanking or two after all!

Haha, oh no - please do not write a while post dissing me for my hatred of seafood. :p

  12. Well that was odd... as I was typing a comment it just blip, disappeared.
Anyway, I think we should put our chicken and seafood together and force feed it to those annoying people. Sound good?

Ah... I just don't get it either. Why do they feel the need to search out people and be hurtful. I have never understood mean.

Hopefully the ones who went private will come back. I almost left too. I needed to think things over a bit. Anyways...

    Praying for Emily still.

    much love

  13. Darn, that ruins our friendship Kenzie, because I like seafood :)
Seriously we're all varied, different individuals and living as we choose to do because we have the freedom to do so; something to celebrate not vilify.
Thank you for your own unique perspective on this.
Keeping those positive thoughts going for Emily too.

  17. I hate when blogs I read go private or disappear altogether. :-/ That article was ridiculous and I first saw it linked on FL poking fun at CDD. I was really tempted to jump in the thread and say something about tolerance for all like others expect to have for themselves, but didn't want to get into an argument. People can be so stupid.
