Implement Help & Sore Car Rides.

I finally have time to write a real post! Yay. I also had time to catch up with lots of blogs, so i'm happy about that. It's crazy how much i've missed writing in/reading other blogs.

So, where to begin. Colin and I are doing alright. DD has been somewhat missing in certain aspects lately, but i'm trying not to dwell on it, and just realize that there seem to be ups and downs all the time, and hopefully this down will turn into a big up soon.

There was a little incident the other day, where I kinda fibbed, ok ok .. I guess lied.. to him. That's a big no-no.

There's this concert that I saw an ad for and I realllllyyyy wanted to go. Badly. First of all, one of the main performers NEVER comes to the east coast. EVER. On top of that, it's a country concert, with two performers I love. It's an all day event which is just so much fun. I mean, come on. Country music. Cowboy Boots. Summer dresses. HOT cowboys. How am I supposed to resist?

Tickets were also cheap, 40 bucks a piece! So what's the problem? Welllllll, just so happens that even though the concert is on the east coast, it's still a 5 1/2 hour drive. Kind of a pain. So I decided to call Colin and ask about the concert.

Me: Hunni, would you be opposed to going to a concert 3 or 4 hours away?
Colin: Probably not, what are the details?

*Note the wording of the question. I asked him if he'd be opposed to going to a concert 3 or 4 hours away - I didn't necessarily say that was the one I was talking about. Ok, I tried to justify it in my head - didn't work.

I gave him all the details, he said he was really excited and to get the tickets! Now in my defense, he asked me where the concert was and I told him it was in Massachusetts. I was so excited that when I was looking at the location, I honestly thought it said MA, when it really said MD. Uh-Oh. Marylands a big difference from Mass, distance wise, which is why he didn't question me saying it was 3 hours away at first.

So, yes I knew it was 5 and a half hours when I told him it was 3 or 4, but I didn't realize I made the MD/MA mess up.

Later on that night, the conversation went something like this.

C: We should Probably get a hotel for the night while were there, what's the name of the town?
K: Good idea. Hm let me look it up.. um, hun, shit .. don't be mad. It's not MA, it's MD.
C: Kenzie, you realize Marylands like 6 hours away right?
K: No way, here i'll mapquest it. (In my head im thinking shit, I already mapquested it..) Well .. um, yea it does say five and a half hours.. and to be honest, I kinda knew how far it was already, I just didn't put two and two together with the whole Maryland vs Mass thing.
C: So you knew it was five and a half hours, and told me it was 3?
K: Well.. I said 3.. OR 4. And you were fine with that, didn't think less than two hours would make a big difference!

He didn't do much talking after that. He let our new implements do the talking. :(

The only good thing was that our new cane broke before he even really used it, so hopefully we'll be able to get a refund or exchange. Aside from that, he used the new tawse, and the loops johnny, both of which actually barely stung. I have no clue how that's possible! I was (as weird as this is) strangely disappointed, because I actually thought they'd be very effective implements for discipline, but um .. not so much. Our new paddle though? That thing needs to find a new home.

Any takers? Free paddle up for grabs. I'll even pay the shipping costs, that's how nice I am. :)

Really though, that thing sucks. Big time. He also decided to use the strap we've had for a while .. HATE that damn thing.

Later that night, I ended up telling him I actually didn't think it was what I deserved for lying. I expected it to be a little more .. severe. How crazy am I? I'll certainly be regretting that Saturday morning before we leave for the concert.

He told me i'll be getting a spanking before we go, AND THEN on top of that, meanie that he is, he'll be applying capcaisain cream after the spanking. That is going to be one very uncomfortable 5 and a half hour car ride. I have to admit, the punishment does kind of fit the crime - i'm sure i'll realize the difference between 3 to 4 hours, and 5 and a half hours.

The more I think about it, the more I realize how badly this is going to suck. And yes, I realize earlier I said things with DD weren't going so smoothly, but I think that's mainly because so far this punishment has been all talk. If and when it happens, then maybe i'll realize he isn't lacking in the consistency department.

Other than that, i've been pretty disrespectful and snappy towards him lately, and I don't like it. For some reason, it just comes out sometimes. I say something, realize it was SO not the right thing, but then, he doesn't even really do anything.

In my head, the disrespect comes out, and I expect to be pulled over his knee, but that hasn't really happened yet. He'll realize later that day that I should be punished, and he'll let me know a punishment is coming, but sometimes I feel like it should be on the spot. In the moment. I guess I just feel like, in certain situations, it'd be even more effective that way. I told him that though, and he said he agrees and he's going to work on that, so I trust in him that he will.

I also have to write lines tonight for something that happened a few days ago. Disrespect again. It's only two pages, but even that's a lot. I haaate lines. I read on another blog something extra that was added to her line writing punishment, and I thought if Colin used that as part of the punishment it'd be SOO effective, but at the same time, i'm not sure I want him to know about it - so I won't go into details.

This is probably crazy too, but like I said earlier, we were both a little let down that 3 out of 4 of the new implements we ordered really weren't that effective, so he wanted me to ask if anyone has any advice on effective implements. I know it's different for everyone, but i've heard a tawse can be very effective, so i'm thinking maybe we just couldn't get the proper one? I saw a few things on this site that looked effective, but they're pretty pricey so I thought i'd see if anyone had any thoughts before ordering them.

The site is http://leatherthorn.homestead.com/ENTER.html and the two that stuck out to us, were their tawse, and the "Imp-Lament." If anyone has any thoughts on those, that'd be great. Or maybe a really 'good' old fashioned wooden hairbrush? A paddle that's something different than the typical one, or the one above? Or an effective leather paddle? An effective leather paddle would be great. Any advice would be awesome. Even though it's a possibility i'll be kicking myself later for asking.

I realllllyyyy don't want to do these lines, but Colin is on his way home, so I need to get started!

  1. Hey hon! For the loopy johnny, it's all in the swing. He was probably afraid of hurting you...with a little practice, that thing can pack quite the sting. It is worth practicing, too, as it's a conveniently quiet implement.

For the hairbrush, the lightweight ones aren't as effective as a dense one. There is a dense one Conair makes, the bristle one, that is VERY effective. But...trust me, it's very effective. It's by far the most painful one we own, and that's including the belt and loopy johnny. http://www.amazon.com/Conair-Wood-Brush-Mixed-Bristles/dp/B0051E38CM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1369958358&sr=8-2&keywords=conair+hairbrush+wooden+bristle

Seriously if you want lasting effect, the combo of something stingy (like a belt or loopy johnny) and thuddy (like a paddle or brush) will really drive the point home.

    1. Thanks for the info! That's what I figured about the loopy johnny .. maybe with some practice, i'll begin to see a difference in it.

That brush LOOKS painful! It's certainly something we might check out, thanks for the link!

      :)

  2. Awww Kenz! Innocent mistake. Also as someone who makes that same trip every week...he can take it ;)

That paddle is really pretty. But I'll let you keep it. ahah. I'd go for hairbrush. We have one. It can be really sweet, if I'm good, he'll brush my hair for me while we watch TV or something. And if I'm not, well, we won't go there.

Admittedly I'm curious about that "extra" thing but, don't say it on here.

Anyway, I hope the concert is AWESOME. It owes ya!

    1. Aww thats sweet with brushing your hair! :) Lol, you suuuure you don't want the paddle?

I'll have to let ya know about the extra thing when it's not on the blog, lol.. and as for the drive, it totally wasn't as bad as expected .. it was actually only a little over 4 hours, so when it came down to it, i'd say the spanking was undeserved! :)

    1. Thanks! The show was good and still enjoyable, except for sitting on a lawn chair in 90 degree weather with cap cream on - OUCH! The car ride, surprisingly, wasnt bad.

  4. Yikes for the lying punishment! I think it was brave and honest of you to say you felt it should be more severe. After all, we're in this to open communication and actually fix things, so if we're withholding, it doesn't really work. So big kudos!!

As for the implements, I think many people would agree that the bathbrush from walmart is one nasty thing. I hate it with a deep, unyielding passion. We have an agreement that it will only be used for punishments and he only uses it for harsh punishments. Trust me, it imparts quite a message!

Leatherthorn is awesome!! We bought a paddle from them and it is both of our favorite implements. He makes quality products and it is worth every single dime. Go for it!

    1. Thanks Rosie! I agree about the importance of being honest and having open communication, so I felt it was necessary to tell him I didn't think it was severe enough. He's not a mind reader after all, lol.

ughh we own a bathbrush and I haaaate it. That thing is NASTY! I'm glad you guys enjoy the leatherthorn paddle! We're seriously thinking about ordering from there!

  5. Hi Kenzie, I have never experienced the cream and my H has no idea about it. Hopefully he will never find out. I hope the car ride isn't to unbearable. How long does the effect of that cream last? Our worse implement is a cane. I have a hard time staying still. But the effect doesn't last long afterwards unless its used in combination with other implements. Hope you have fun at the concert!

    1. You are one lucky girl! Do NOT let him find out about the cream, under ANY circumstances. lol, that thing is literally a spanking in a bottle! Yuck!

  6. Honestly I probably would have done the same thing. I love country music. Hopefully the ride there won't be too uncomfortable.

I'm curious about the extra thing too.

PS. Love the Chandler gif and hope you have a good time at the concert.

  7. Ugh Kenzie!! I did the same exact thing a few months ago...We were going to New Jersey and I told him that it would only take 3 hrs...ended up being about 6. He was pissed. But confusing Mass with Maryland...lol Have fun at your concert!! -Stubborn

    1. Lol, ok so i'm not the only one! Jersey is a pain - parts are super close, and other parts could seem like you're driving to Canada!

    2. Yeah and not to mention Jersey drivers are the worst in the entire world! LOL

  8. Uh oh. Kudos to you for being honest (about the mix up and about the punishment).

Hope you enjoy the concert, though. I love country music, too. And maybe by the time you get there you will be in more of an "afterglow" than "omigosh this hurts" mindset.

    1. Thanks Brenna! Thankfully the car ride wasn't bad, the only part that really sucked was during the concert, the cream seemed to kick in randomly .. ouch!

  9. I don't know if you are a total iron butt or something but I've always heard horror stories about how much the loopy johnny hurts. I've never used one personally. I can attest that wooden hairbrushes are awful!

    1. Haha, right?! I guess I just have a iron butt! Or maybe he was holding back, I guess with time, we'll figure out which one it is. :)

  11. Kenzie,

Thanks for sharing. It will be 90 degrees on esat coast, that cap creame is going to burn girl.

I hope you have fun at concert. It should be a great day.

I would recommend a heavy leather strap, I am not a fan of wood.

    Hug,

  12. oh my word. SC read your post, looked up that implement link, and said they are "beautiful"! ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On another note, he almost created an account just so he could respond to this post. He says he thinks he has "something to offer about implements. ROFL does he ever...he is such a implement junkie!

We have a wooden paddle that looks that that one....it is awful. SC just got a leather paddle that is HORRIBLE. He says its not as bad as wood but I think it is its own form of hades. yuck yuck yuck.

I had a lying incident last week as well. :( I felt so so awful about it.

Hope you enjoy the concert in spite of all of that! :)

    1. Haha, well being an implement junkie, i'd love to hear his take on some implements!

Where'd you guys get the leather paddle from? I'd be interesting in hearing about it. :)

I'd say the way we feel about lying can be punishment enough sometimes! But of course, they'd never see it that way, lol.

  13. Anything wooden is soo painful. I actually got bruised from our wooden shower brush...wasn't expecting that! Anything with holes too...we have a spatula with holes in it, and that thing STINGS!! I really hope you enjoy the concert and are able to put the "pre-game" car ride behind you and have a great time! It's a very tough thing to do to admit our faults...

  14. Most of our gear is homemade. My latest creation is a paint stir stick (available at darn near every hardware store) with the corners and edges sanded down and spray-painted black. Reports are that it stings like crazy.

  15. I'm not exactly impartial since my husband and I make them and sell them, but check out our shop called BrightRedMoonRising on Etsy. Or link straight to it through Julia's blog, "My Personal Thinking Spot." They are lightweight, thinner than most, and especially easy on the spanker since they require very little energy to deliver a sting-y spank! They are lovingly made from an ancient Willow Oak and Julia and her DH have two of them now and seem to really like them. They reviewed one on their blog as well.

So check out what's there, tell me which one appeals to you, and I will send it to you for half price. *(sigh)* Unless they sell out in which case tell me which one appealed to you and we'll make one just for you. Either way, this offer is probably going to get me a spanking, but if you like it and blog about it, then I could argue with him that it's good advertising, couldn't I? Right?

Post your answer here and if you want one, I'll email you at the email address you have listed here, and we'll figure out a way to get it to you without having to tell everyone here either of our personal information. I'll check back over the next few days to see what you think...

Oh Boy. Now I've gone and hit "publish"...................

    1. You are so sweet! I hope you don't get spanked for it, lol .. like you said, it'd be good advertising because i'd totally review it!

The implements look SO great! We'd love to take you up on your offer. If you want to send me an email at ddcouple26@gmail.com and we can figure out all the details, that'd be awesome.

Thanks again for the offer, can't wait to talk. :)
